Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation Supports Launch of Mobile Food Pantry in Central Falls

Partnership with the Central Falls Foundation expands access to healthy food for seniors, families, and residents facing barriers to food access

West Warwick, RI (August 4, 2026) — The Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation is proud to support the launch of a new Mobile Food Pantry in Central Falls, a community-driven initiative led by the Central Falls Foundation that will bring fresh, nutritious food directly into neighborhoods throughout the city.

The Mobile Food Pantry was created to help address food insecurity and improve access to healthy food for residents who may face transportation, mobility, or other barriers. By bringing food directly into the community, the program will help ensure seniors, families, and vulnerable residents have more consistent access to essential resources.

As one of Rhode Island's most densely populated communities, Central Falls faces unique challenges related to food access. Through this partnership, the Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation joins local leaders and community organizations in investing in practical solutions that improve quality of life and strengthen the community.

"Access to healthy food is fundamental to building strong, resilient communities," said Hal Horvat, Chair of the Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation and President & CEO, and Chairman of the Board of Centreville Bank. "We're proud to support a program that removes barriers, serves people with dignity, and delivers critical resources directly to those who need them most. This initiative reflects the power of partnership and what can be accomplished when organizations come together to make a meaningful difference for our neighbors."

The Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation provided funding to support the initiative, along with reusable shopping bags that will be used during pantry distributions to enhance the participant experience.

"We are grateful for Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation's support and commitment to our community," said Bridgette M. Duquette, Executive Director of the Central Falls Foundation. "This Mobile Food Pantry represents an important step forward in addressing food insecurity and ensuring more residents have access to healthy, nutritious food. Together, we're creating a stronger support system for families throughout Central Falls."

The Mobile Food Pantry is now serving residents through regularly scheduled distributions across Central Falls, bringing fresh food and essential resources directly into neighborhoods where they are needed most.
