Centreville Bank Opens New Branch Office in Warwick

July 6, 2020

Centreville Bank, established in 1828 and headquartered in West Warwick, RI, today announced the opening of its first office in Warwick. The self-standing branch is located at 578 Greenwich Avenue (across from the Stop & Shop/Lowes plaza).

“Our goal is to be the first-choice, community bank option for Rhode Islanders and we recognize that the achievement of that goal requires that we expand our physical footprint,” said Harold M. Horvat, Centreville Bank president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board. “Warwick is a natural step in our expansion strategy, as it is adjacent to some of our current branch locations, is a largely-populated community, and an area where we have some strong brand recognition.”

Horvat explained that the bank has gone through an exhaustive analysis of its retail banking delivery system, which prior to the new Warwick office consisted of seven offices in Rhode Island, from Narragansett to Cranston, and an additional eight offices throughout Windham and New London counties in Eastern Connecticut, a result of their acquisition of Putnam Bank completed earlier this year.

The bank has adopted a “universal banker,” customer-service model that enables all office staff members to seamlessly handle any banking need. The new, 1,500 square foot Warwick office is designed to complement that approach and features interactive teller machines (ITMs) that offer walk up and drive up access, as well as ample parking.

The Warwick office will employ five staff members and be managed by Theresa Wosencroft, a 20-year veteran in retail banking.

“Theresa is a hands-on, customer-focused banking professional who will lead a seasoned staff in Warwick; we’re fortunate to have such well-rounded team,” commented Horvat. “They’ll be working from a state-of-the-art facility that will be easily accessible from local neighborhoods and the highway. We’re excited to become part of the Warwick community.”
